
Professor William Sewell is a conjoint professor in the UNSW School of Clinical Medicine and an immunopathologist at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney, with broad expertise in the molecular and cellular biology of the immune and haemopoietic systems and their translation into diagnostic pathology. His research interests span flow cytometry, immunology, and allergy, with a strong focus on clinical applications in haematological malignancies and immunodeficiency disorders. Professor Sewell is an active member of the Australasian Cytometry Society, Australasian Society for Immunology, and International Clinical Cytometry Society. He serves as an Expert Member of the WHO Blue Books Editorial Board for the 5th Edition of the Classification of Haematolymphoid Tumours and is a member of the WHO Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on In Vitro Diagnostics (SAGE-IVD). He also contributes to the Cure4Kids Asia Pacific Leukemia Lymphoma Hour and previously served as the RCPA Chief Examiner in Immunopathology.
