Australasian Cytometry Society (ACS) Event Code of Conduct

The Australasian Cytometry Society (ACS) is committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all attendees, speakers, sponsors, and staff. To ensure a positive experience for everyone, we require all participants to adhere to this Code of Conduct during our conferences and events.


Expected Behavior

  • Treating everyone with respect, consideration, and professionalism.
  • Engaging in constructive, collaborative, and inclusive communication.
  • Respecting the personal space, boundaries, and preferences of others.
  • Promptly reporting any concerning behavior to ACS event organisers.

Unacceptable Behavior

  • Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form.
  • Offensive, demeaning, or abusive language or imagery.
  • Unwelcome physical contact or persistent, unwanted attention.
  • Disrupting presentations, workshops, or the general event environment.
  • Unprofessional behaviour or acts that could be considered breaches of expected behaviour.
  • Breaches of confidentiality requests/ expectations
  • Any attempt to obtain an unfair competitive advantage e.g trade secrets, IP or inappropriate use of unpublished data/ finding

Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior

Violations of this Code of Conduct will not be tolerated. All breaches of the Code of Conduct  should be communicated to the ACS exec or Local Organising Committee chair in writing and will be dealt with under the current grievances process as set out under the ACS Rules of Association.
