Awards and Recognition

We are proud to recognise and celebrate excellence across the Australasian cytometry community. By submitting your abstract, you’ll have the opportunity to showcase your work while being considered for a range of prestigious conference awards.

Tavel Award – $600

Travel Grants are available for a select number of accepted oral abstract presenters. Grants are valued at up to $600 and do not include complimentary conference registration. Recipients will be notified prior to the commencement of the conference.

Sandy Smith Memorial Award – $500

These awards are presented in recognition of Sandy Smith’s contributions to fostering innovation in clinical cytometry. The top outstanding clinical abstracts will receive an award, including funding of AU$500 to present their work at ACS 2026 Sydney.

Early-Mid Career Cytometrist (EMCC) Award – $500

Open to early- and mid-career cytometrists (clinical, research and SRL scientists) who have been working, studying, or utilising cytometry for eight years or less. Eligible presenters should nominate themselves during the abstract submission process.

Poster Award – $300

Awarded to the presenter of an outstanding poster, recognising scientific quality, originality, and excellence in visual communication.

Rapid Fire Student Award – $300

Recognising the best rapid fire presentation delivered by a student presenter.

Rapid Fire SRL Award – $300

Awarded to the best rapid fire presentation by a Shared Resource Laboratory (SRL) scientist, recognising technical excellence and innovation.
