
Dr Omar Elaskalani is a cancer researcher whose work focuses on understanding the unique tumour microenvironment of paediatric cancers. He leads research that develops and applies innovative preclinical models alongside cutting-edge single-cell and immune-omics approaches to uncover age-specific, immune-targeted therapies aimed at improving outcomes for children with cancer. His research has been supported by competitive funding from The Kids Research Institute Australia, including the Research Focus Area Collaboration Award and an IGNITE Early–Mid Career Researcher Project Grant. Dr Elaskalani has received multiple awards recognising the excellence of his research presentations at national scientific meetings and conferences.
